Meet the Author

Hey guys! My name is Cheryl and I am the founder of Kake Kwerk, where we specialise in healthy cakes made from plant-based products and natural healthier sugars. 

When writing To Milk or Not To Milk, I wanted to share some of the plant-based milk that I grew up with and some that I have learnt along the way.

Having a Dominican Caribbean background, a lot of my diet was based on things that came from the ground as this is what my parents grew up with.

Along with this varied and nutrient-rich diet came recipes and tips that helped to nourish the body, supplying vitamins and minerals which all help to keep the body functioning in tip-top condition.

When moving over to plant-based milk, I wished that I had an easy, go-to guide that would supply milk suggestions with real-life experiences and recipes of how to make them myself. When I finally made the switch and experienced all of the health benefits, I decided to share my knowledge from my heritage and experience to (hopefully!) make the transition for others easier and also give you lots of tasty variety.

For me, the aim of this book is to guide, teach and assist you in finding plant-based milk that is delicious, nutritious and right for you!
